




If You Love Muscle in Your Truck
In this Silverado model, the engine displaces 6.0 liters, has 8-cylinders, produces 353 horsepower, and 373 pound-feet of torque in an automatic transmission. A larger 6.6.-liter V8 is an option however, which can produce 365 hp and 660 lb-feet of torque. With an Allison 6-speed automatic transmission, the truck can pull as much as 13,000 pounds, or haul 3,458 pounds (1.5+ tons).
This power horse may be in rear-wheels (2WD) or 4-wheel drive, with the floor-located transfer case selector for the WT trim, and Autotrac ---automatic 4WD shift-on at slippage-- for all others.
Safety features include ABS as standard, while power-adjustable pedals and rear-park help being optional. No front-side or side-impact airbags are available, though.
New Features
The 2500 Silverado is sold in regular, extended and crew cab variants with two cargo space lengths, and the tailgate has been made lighter and handier to remove or use as cargo space extension. The truck is offered in the same colors as the 1500 models.
New standard amenities for the 2500 is 17-inch wheels, XM satellite radio, larger pull handles, new grill, hood and front fenders design. Also new designs for the dash and door panels with wood grain and metallic accents have been implemented for the LTZ variant, adding to the feel of luxury.
Riding Comfort
The Chevy Silverado 2500's supple suspension is the main reason road bumps are eliminated, and that there's so little sway on cornering. The quiet interior during even long rides is also becoming a much-loved quality of the Chevrolet Silverado 2500, which has been rated A in riding comfort.
