The Nissan Frontier Crew Cab is powered by a 4.0L, 265 hp Nismo V6 engine coupled to a 5-speed electronic control automatic transmission with overdrive. This Nismo 24-valve V6 is a sequential electronic fuel injection gas engine that averages 14/19 city/highway driving for the standard 4WD truck. The crew cab is just one of the Nissan Frontier compact truck options available to the American consumer, any of them able to fit two or three specific needs.

The steering column can be tilted for driving comfort, and the steering mechanism is rack and pinion assembly with engine sensing variable assist. Suspension is independent double wishbone with coil springs, dampened by gas charged shocks. A front stabilizer bar supports the independent movement from too much play to reduce bumps.

Features

Standard features in a Nissan Frontier Crew Cab include an MA/FM Radio and CD player, 4-wheel ABS, and a driver airbag with dual stage deployment. However, options for the discriminating user are portable navigation system, DVD, iPod interface capability, floor mats, sliding cargo bed divider or extender, towing attachments and a few others in various optional packages.

Fabric upholstery, adjustable driver seats, folding front bucket seats with adjustable headrests are common features. The overhead console storage, open console in dashboard and floor and covered floor console (among others) are not usual, but found in the truck.

Consumer reviews rate the Nissan Frontier Crew Cab as almost perfect in power and performance, but suffers in creature comforts when compared to a SUV, but bests other trucks of its range in car-like interior styling. In other words, it is a car disguised as a truck, and successful in its attempt.
